Hello! I’m Alice,

I specialise in thrown ceramics. This ☼ is my makers mark. It physically brings a little sunshine into every day, and is intentionally unique to each pot. The process of adding this by hand is an exercise in embracing playfulness. It makes me smile, and I hope it does the same for you.

Most of my work focuses on the exploration of place and people, or landscapes, through functional objects, sculptural forms and written/spoken word.

Before being a potter, I was a Nurse. I started doing things with clay at Sunken Studio in the summer of 2021, as a hobby to de-stress. I left nursing in May 2022 and completed a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at Leeds Arts University in May 2023. I got the keys to my first studio in December 2023. This journey, combined with other life experiences and my childhood on a farm in rural Lancashire, continue to (sub)consciously influence my creative process and output.

My process involves experiencing responding documenting developing presenting. I aim to provide opportunities for new ways in thinking, feeling and seeing.
